About

I was working as a teacher, when my life took an unexpected and unlikely turn. My husband was offered work in Mauritius, where we were to stay for nearly two years.

The area was almost untouched by tourism and most of the local community lived basically, fishing by hand for a living and to put food on their table.

At Christmas I organised and planned a party for the local children, twenty would have been nice. The list soon expanded to one hundred and fifty, all in the back garden!

I had always held a passion for writing and threatened to write a book. The day following the party I began to create my first novel. The feel good factor the party gave me has never changed.
I wrote a short story and won first prize, a kindle! It stayed in a drawer for a year. I liked a book you could hold, a proper book! Now, I wouldn’t be without it! Winning the competition inspired me to publish.

My stories are pacy and unpredictable, a bit like me! My mother-in-law read my first novel, raised her eyebrows when she saw me next and told me I’d lived a colourful life! I tried explaining that author imagination played a role, but she was having none of it, and raised her brows again sympathetically towards my husband.
When I’m not writing, I’m walking with my dogs and husband on the coast of Kent, or around the lovely Andalusian hillsides gathering inspiration and plotting my next book.

I write most of my novels with a bit of adventure like Ken Follett, entwined with a twist of Danielle Steel, although Ripley definitely veers towards romance.

I also write self-help books about life, and making choices that are right for you. I´ve always been passionate about helping others, and decided to share what I´ve learned about being and staying happy, no matter what. You can find out more about the Self-Help books in the Books tab above.
